Editorial Photography – MOCOSA Magazine, Issue 54
Creative Direction · Editorial Photography · On Location Production
Commissioned by Marcus Oldham College for MOCOSA Issue 54, this editorial photography assignment centred around capturing the life and work of an alumnus featured in a multi page story. The images were shot on location at the subject’s rural property, offering a grounded and authentic visual narrative to accompany the written piece.
Creative Contribution
I led the creative direction and photography for this feature, collaborating closely with the subject, journalist and magazine editor to ensure the images reflected both the tone of the story and the personality of the individual. From concept to shoot, I was responsible for all visual decision making.
Deliverables
Editorial Photography – Images featured across pages 22, 23, and 24 of MOCOSA Issue 54
Creative Direction – Visual approach and art direction to complement the editorial tone
On-Site Production – Location scouting, natural light planning and subject coordination
Creative Approach
The brief called for honest, grounded imagery that would reflect the subject’s connection to the land and his story of purpose driven work. I leaned into natural light and unposed compositions to capture a sense of calm confidence and rural integrity. The resulting images sit seamlessly within the magazine’s refined, editorial style while telling a quiet but powerful story of place and character.
